Regarding Blueprints

Just a heads up. I'll be disabling full-size downloads on my blueprints from now onwards. All I asked was for a little credit or attribution back to me for free use of the blueprints, but many people can't seem to be bothered to do so. I'm sorry that this will affect everyone, just because of a number of bad eggs out there. The original blueprints (plus vector files) will still be available for sale on my Storenvy site ( scouterprops.storenvy.com/coll… ). Otherwise, if you're still desperate for the full-sized blueprints but somehow unable/unwilling to drop a couple of dollars on work that's taken a good number of hours to complete, send me a PM asking nicely and I'll see what I can do. :)

Apologies in advance~!

I've been working together with my friend for a while now, and we've recently decided to start a Facebook page. Its a page dedicated to our prop-making projects; documenting our progress as well as showcasing completed works. Essentially, what goes onto dA will go onto the Facebook page as well, except there will probably be more frequent posts on the FB page in comparison (so convenient to post stuff up there!).

The lure of S$1.61 per month of premium membership was too much to forego! That's 1/10 the price of a subscription to WoW, just to take things in comparison. Hence, I've taken the proverbial bait and got a 2-year premium membership. Needless to say, I'll be giving this page a thorough makeover, so do stay tuned! Once I figure out all the features that is...

If you guys haven't noticed by now, the project which took close to a year to complete, is now complete! Noctis' sword (my lovely Drive Edge) has already been taken out for a spin a.k.a photoshoot just a day after completion. Photos of the finished sword will be posted up soon, once my worklog starts to clear up a little, as well as the results of the photoshoot. Do look forward to it! You won't be disappointed; the photography was great from what I could tell. :)

Spending 11 months on a single prop is kinda overboard. Nonetheless, the outcome was pretty good. I gained valuable insight into prop-making, namely, the wonder of the material pla-plate, the downsides of paperclay, as well as several painting techniques. I definitely need to work faster on props, maybe develop faster, more efficient methods of construction. Can't wait a lifetime to complete a prop, after all.

As for upcoming projects, there will be two scheduled for completion by Cosfest XI, on the 7th/8th July 2012. The first is Serah's bowblade from Final Fantasy XIII-2, as requested from :icontiburonsama:. :D I'll try my best to make it both functional as a bow, and transformable into its sword form. The second is the Ghost and Spectre from Starcraft 2, which I'll be collaborating with my friend(who prefers not to be named >_<) on.

That's all from me for now! Gotta start clearing my room of the mess left by stray materials and pieces of papers.... grumblegrumble..

Impending AFA!

2 weeks to go and I'm totally not gonna make it in time for Noctis! Delayed from Cosfest, to STGCC, to AFA, and probably till next year. x( Well, I guess I'm used to it already. I'll probably do a re-cos of Mugetsu on Day 1, and go casual on Day 2 to catch the all-so-awesome Mardock Scramble 2.

Sword progress has been going pretty steady these past weeks. Will post up a few more WIP shots once I tidy things up a bit. I'm estimating the completion date to be around 2 months time, at the current rate of progress. About time to wrap up this project, isn't it? Having said that, even in it's uncompleted state, it looks AWESOME if I do say so myself. *total shamelessness*
